Research positions available in Dr. Bin Li’s Laboratory at the Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, CAS

We seek highly motivated individuals for several postdoctoral and research assistant positions in the laboratory of molecular immunology at the Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, The Chinese Academy of Science. We study the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the immune response in major human infectious diseases. Currently, we are particularly interested in understanding the dynamic role of one subpopulation of T cells, namely natural or inducible regulatory T cells (FOXP3+Tregs), in major human infectious diseases (Background readings: Li et al 2006 Immunol Rev 212:99-113; Li et al 2007 Curr Opin Immunol 19(5):589-95; Li and Greene 2007 Cell Cycle 15;6(12):1432-6; and Li and Greene 2008 Immunology 123(1):17-9).

For Postdoctoral positions, a Ph.D. degree in biomedical science is required, and a research background in immunology, virology, or molecular biology will be a plus. Individuals who are interested in studying the regulatory role of immune system in major infectious diseases are encouraged to apply.

For Research Assistant positions, a master’s degree or higher in Immunology, Molecular biology, virology or a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in virology, immunology, molecular biology and/or transgenic mouse models. The selected candidate will be expected to help the PI grant application, and will be responsible for general laboratory management.

Positions will remain open until filled. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, CAS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Please submit research statement, curriculum vitae and names and e-mail addresses of three references to binli@sibs.ac.cn
