Seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulins among blood donors in Madagascar during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Monitoring of the seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG among blood donors since the start of the epidemic and throughout the epidemic was carried out. We show that in Madagascar, this seroprevalence skyrocketed from 0% to 40% during the epidemic, and that this seems to be associated with the acquisition of collective immunity, with a sharp slowdown in the circulation of the virus. This original work is the first description of the dynamics of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic in 5 cities of Madagascar, presented by Dr. Matthieu SCHOENHALS, Head of the Infectious Diseases Immunology Unit, Institut Pasteur de Madagascar.
