On September 15, the Key Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) convened its Academic Committee meeting in Suzhou.

Prof. SUN Bing, Director of the laboratory, presented general progress report in 2012 to the Committee, including the strategy and development objectives, scientific research, development of qualified personnel, postgraduate training, as well as its future goals and planning. Principal investigators of the laboratory reported their representative study progress in the fields of virology, immunology, vaccine and tuberculosis.

The members of Academic Committee requested the laboratory to further concise its research objectives to meet the national strategic needs in the prevention and control of infectious diseases. More support should go to develop highlights of the current work so as to get remarkable outcome.

The Academic Committee evaluated on the applications to the open projects of the laboratory in 2012, three of which were selected for financial support.
