The 7th meeting of the Board of Directors (BOD) was held on Oct.7. Prof. Li Jiayang, Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Chairman of the BOD chaired the meeting. The Directors or their representatives from CAS, Shanghai Municipality and Institut Pasteur attended the meeting. Prof V. Deubel, Director General and Prof. Sun Bing, Co-Director, gave a progress report of IPS to the BOD. The two reports included the accomplishments during the last 6 months and the strategic plan for the next 5 years, covering management, talents recruitment, national and international cooperation, new partnerships, major events organized at IPS and the coming events. Mr. I. Robin gave a report on finance of IPS. The BOD members expressed their satisfaction to the progress made by IPS, and gave a special attention on the research facilities and space extension of IPS. Several steps in supporting the research facility construction were discussed and planned at the meeting.　　

　　After the meeting, the members of the BOD and PIs at IPS congratulated Professors Francoise Barre Sinoussi and Luc Montagner at Institut Psateur in Paris who were just awarded for 2008 Nobel Prize in medicine the day before the meeting.
