    First Pasteur-Areva Forum successfully held in Shanghai

      The First Pasteur-Areva Forum “Impact of Climate Change on Emerging Diseases” was successfully held in Shanghai on 10-11 Nov. Prof. Vincent Deubel, Director General of Institut Pasteur of Shanghai inaugurated the Forum. Mr. Yu Rucong, Deputy Administrator of China Meteorological Administration, Mme. Anne Denis-Blanchardon, Vice General Consul of French Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr. Arnauld De Bourayne, President of AREVA in China were present at the forum and gave their remarks respectively at the opening ceremony.

      The Forum has gathered about 100 participants from China and abroad. During the two days meeting, 16 speakers from China, USA, France, Australia, the Netherlands and Israel shared their knowledge with participants. Their topics covered Emerging diseases in animals and in humans, control of epidemics, monitoring the health effects of climate change, direct and indirect effects of climate on epidemics, climate and epidemics and genetics. Facing the complexity and systematize of sudden and emerging infectious diseases, it requires a multidisciplinary. The Forum provided an opportunity of exchanges among microbiologists, epidemiologists, entomologists, ecologists and satellites experts.
