The laboratory of Anti-Infective Research is recruiting a co-Principal Investigator. The unit focuses on the identification of cellular factors and pathways required for viral replication, particularly Enterovirus 71, which has caused over 30,000 severe infections with neurological complications and more than 1,300 deaths in China since 2008. We use a chemical genetics approach based on libraries of approved drugs and probe compounds with known targets in order to identify cellular targets and pathways involved in viral replication (Owens et al, 2010, Molecular Systems Biology, 8:375).

The candidate should have a solid experience in cell biology and virology, preferentially with experience in drug discovery and animal models of Infectious Diseases. He or she also should have at least one successful post-doc experience in the field of cell biology, virology or drug discovery.

The position of co- Principal investigator offers the opportunity to qualify as Principal investigator after successful completion of a 3 years employment.
